Must've been too much sun in the Sunshine State.
For some reason, my picks from St. Petersburg lacked the same precision accuracy the Journal had been enjoying.
For the record: 6-3 last week (hit on Mississippi State's upset over Vandy, and Florida's win over LSU, missed on Auburn, Kentucky and Faulkner); 70-11 for the season (86%).
Now that I'm back in Sweet Home Alabama, expect a "bounce back" week.
GEORGIA 28, Vanderbilt 17 - Back-to-back losses for the Commodores.
KENTUCKY 24, Arkansas 21 - Hogs looked strong against Auburn, but lately, who hasn't?
TENNESSEE 31, Mississippi State 13 - A rare win for the Volunteers.
LSU 23, South Carolina 21 - Gamecocks have won four straight, including back-to-back SEC road games at Ole Miss and Kentucky. Look for the Bengal Tigers to respond after that Swamp beatdown.
ALABAMA 31, Ole Miss 17 - No rust for this Crimson Tide team. After an open date, Bama picks up where it left off, with another fast start.
TUSKEGEE 31, Albany State 20 - Make it 23 in a row for the Golden Tigers.
LAMBUTH 35, Faulkner 7 - Eagles are having hard times.
GRAMBLING 27, Alabama State 13 - See above.
TROY 24, Florida International 17 - Look for Levi Brown to get the first shot running the show for the Trojans, now that Jamie Hampton is gone for the season.
HUNTINGDON 56, Blackburn 6 - Hawks unload the benches again. If you're wearing a red jersey, you'll get in - even if you're the third #40 on the team.
Looking to get back to the "Glory Days" of 90% accuracy.
See you next week!
God bless - Jeff
You were very accurate on the Tuskegee Game. Will the Golden Tigers have a perfect season? Will WSFA do a webcast on any of Tuskegee's games this year?
