Wow! I just took my first ride on the Harriot II. If you don't already know, that's the new riverboat that sails on the Alabama River. It docks downtown at the Riverfront Pavilion near the Amphitheatre. There are three levels and they used them all the night I sailed. The Capital City Women's Club organized the even that raised money for two charities.
On the first level, there was a band performing. It was a group out of Prattville that played everything from the blues to R&B. And when they played the Electric Slide, everybody hit the dance floor. It was a sea of attractive people in lovely white outfits.
The second floor was where they served the dinner that night. It was scrumptous! The service was excellent and the spirits were flowing. On this deck and the others, the view was absolutely spectacular. And several of the guests took advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the evening breeze.
On the top deck, the dancing continued. There was a DJ up there and just as many people were dancing as there were on the first floor. We had a great time for a couple of great causes. If you haven't checked out the Harriot II yet, you are missing a treat. Kudos to the Capital City Women's Club. Keep up the good work... and keep dancing!
